Our love for folks, with sexual preference other than tradition, is conditioned. Hmm! Really?
I received a phone call from a male who had lost his brother. I listen as the caller poured his heart out about the loss.
There was one thing the caller said that stuck in my mind. “If it wasn’t for his father, he could have came out.”
Why blame the father when the brother’s death was because of medical carelessness?
This is an ongoing topic that has caused chaotic rivalry throughout the world. Most all tradition religions oppose same sex relationships.
The blame game has folks not taking responsibility for life choices. I know, I said, “choice” as some folks believe they are born homosexual or lesbian.
Here is my belief...
Some folks that “profess Christianity” believe and say, I was “born” homosexual or lesbian, God loves and accepts me the way I am.
Don’t know if they mean genetically born, but God does love them.
Do I agree that one is born homosexual or lesbian?
Although it has not been genetically proven one is born homosexual or lesbian, I’ll agree that yes you are born susceptible to this sin. I know you may not like that I used the words “susceptible and sin.”
David said, “I was brought forth in [a state of] wickedness; In sin my mother conceived me [and from my beginning I, too, was sinful],” (Psalm 51:5).
Ok... you might say I’m judging you. Nope! I’m merely speaking what is spoken in scripture.
“If a man lies [intimately] with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed a detestable (perverse, unnatural) act; they shall most certainly be put to death; their blood is on them,” (Leviticus 20:13).
Some folks protest this scripture indicating it was written under the old law and no longer is valid today. The punishment is no longer acceptable today.
One of the comeback scriptures is in the book of Romans which indicates because folks didn’t reverence God, “God gave them over to degrading and vile passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural [a function contrary to nature], and in the same way also the men turned away from the natural function of the woman and were consumed with their desire toward one another, men with men committing shameful acts and in return receiving in their own bodies the inevitable and appropriate penalty for their wrongdoing,”
(Romans 1:26-27).
God gave them over because of the repetitive acts of sin...
There is a split of opinion about this, but according to the Bible, our first birth is natural, from our mother’s womb. Jesus said this, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit,” (John 3:6).
The second birth is spiritual, Jesus said, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God,” (John 3:3).
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life],” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
My question is have you been “reborn,” a spiritual birth?
There is a word that was coined by George Weinburg in the 1960s, homophobia. This word, not popularly spoken years ago, is commonly spoken today, homophobic. There are three words that stand out about the meaning of this word, fear, aversion or repugnance, and condemned.
I’ve heard a few mainstream leaders speak hoarse words about the LGBTQ... community. The words were explicit, vulgar, and demoralizing.
I later learned the reason they spoke vulgarly was fear and pain. They had negative experiences with same sex persons or relationships.
The fear and pain of negative experiences leaves one in a protective or defensive mode. Rather than take the responsibility for their decisions as the son who blamed the father didn’t, they separate and develop a dislike or revenge toward any party that oppose their decisions.
When scripture says, Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord,”
(Romans 12:19).
They speak out in an effort to condemn as the church leaders did, whether than simply providing scriptural trues and leaving out the name calling and vigorous speeches.
“Whoever digs a pit [for another man’s feet] will fall into it, And he who rolls a stone [up a hill to do mischief], it will come back on him,” (Proverbs 26:27).
We must remind ourselves, the matters of the heart are in the hand of God, some matters, it’s a necessity we speak out about, while the matters that remain in the heart are spoken only to God.
